Excel jet boats
In early 2005, Excel Engineering’s Managing Director Royden Piebenga was approached by a friend regarding an advertisement in a local jet boating magazine. The advertisement was for the sale of fabrication equipment and jigs for building boats.
Royden decided to contact the seller of this equipment, Alf Dick, not realizing that Alf is a well known and highly respected jet boat fabricator. At the time Alf had over 50 years experience at Hamilton Marine, and is known as the “Ideas Man” of jet boats.
Alf agreed to sell his equipment to Royden and to show Royden and the proper methods of jet boat fabrication. This expertise saved Excel a lot of time and potential errors.
Excel Engineering has a demonstration boat available for potential clients and always has boats and parts at different steps of fabrication at the workshop.
